Welcome!

Welcome to the Colonial Ministry of Defense Website. We hope to provide an enjoyable experience for all our members and potential members as a growing and exciting Battlestar Galactica Fan Club. We welcome anyone looking for a place to enjoy one of science fiction’s leading television shows! The Colonial Ministry of Defense (CMoD) is a fan-based organization patterned off the military organization depicted in the Battlestar Galactica Saga (Original Series of 1978-79, Galactica 1980, and the Re-Imagined Series of 2003- 09). The CMoD is centered around the “surviving” military forces of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol in the wake of the surprise Cylon attack on the colonies themselves.

Who Comprises the Colonial Ministry of Defense?

While it may sound cliche, it is the members that are the fundamental building blocks of the CMoD. For without the members making it strong and driving it forward, the CMoD would not exist whatsoever. Members of the CMoD come from a wide variety of backgrounds and geographic locations. However, they all share one common bond: their love and appreciation for Battlestar Galactica and the ideas and philosophies espoused in both the original and re-imagined incarnations of the television series

Who Runs the Colonial Ministry of Defense?

The CMoD is run by two individual leadership bodies: The Joint Chiefs of Staff and a Fleet Commanders Council. The Joint Chiefs of Staff act as the executive body of the CMoD and is charged with the day-to-day operations of the CMoD. The Fleet Commanders Council acts as the legislative authority charges with establishing and maintaining the bylaws and policies governing the CMoD.
