The Chief of Operations is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The holder of this position is in charge of the day to day assignment and reconciliation of fleet chapters, their squadrons, and other operational aspects. This person holds the minimum rank of Vice Admiral. The duties of the Chief of Operations are as follows:
- Responsible for all duties involving the chapters of the fleet.
- Responsible for ensuring adequate records are maintained for all pilot call signs and viper/raptor tail numbers.
- Responsible for listing all viper and raptor squadrons assigned to each chapter.
- Other tasks as required to assist the Commander in Chief.
